Becoming you: your identity in healthcare

For English students year 1 & 2

Before you enter the healthcare sector as an intern/employee, it is important to consider who you are, both as a person and as a healthcare worker. In this workshop, you will find out how your personal values and identity form the basis for your professional conduct.

Healthcare is not only about what you do, but also about how and why you do something. What are your values when interacting with clients? What do you need to work well with colleagues? How do you stay true to yourself in a busy or challenging practice?

In this interactive workshop:

  • you will discover your personal values
  • you will explore how these values influence your professional conduct
  • you will increase your self-awareness in order to make more conscious choices in your education and career

This workshop will help you to better understand yourself as a (future) healthcare provider. This will make it easier to reflect, justify your choices, and give meaning to what you learn. The workshop also ties in with several learning outcomes of your training program. Allow yourself to take this step in your professional development. The better you know yourself, the more confident you will be in your professional career!
