Fontys School of Life
'Our mission is to equip you with the practical tools and knowledge you need to thrive in every aspect of your life.'
Let's start!
Have you ever wondered why they don’t teach this in school? So have we! That’s why we’re introducing Fontys School of Life: a pioneering movement within Fontys designed to equip students with practical life skills that go beyond the books and classrooms. Imagine managing your finances with confidence, looking positively at life, and processing the skills to ensure both physical and mental well-being. School of Life will make you a confident, capable and unbreakable individual, ready for anything life throws your way!
School of what?
We want to use life skills education to encourage conscious future choices and promote personal growth, not only within the curriculum but also beyond, with the participation of both staff and students. In doing so, we focus on developing essential "life skills" in addition to academic knowledge. School of Life is a team, set up by Fontys to share our experience and teach you about life skills in a fun and meaningful way. Because Life’s Too Short to Stress, we inject a hearty dose of humour into life skills education. You will find out that while life skills are serious business, learning them can be a laugh-out-loud adventure!

Check out our initiatives and join us on an adventure!
Our agenda is filled with events hosted by our own creators. Every event is in line with what we find important. It’s the stuff that they don’t teach you, but that you should learn at school.
Pop- up Kitchen
Pop-up Kitchen is for Fontys Community members eager to eat healthy, reduce food waste, and enhance their cooking skills. We offer budget-friendly, hands-on cooking experiences that promote social interaction and cultural exchange.
Through activities and workshops, we raise awareness about sustainable food practices by using leftovers and innovative technologies. Collaborating with caterers, restaurants, and educational institutions, we connect students, staff, and stakeholders, building a community focused on healthy, affordable, and sustainable food.
Project Comeback
With students from the Minor Embrace TEC, we are addressing the theme of mental health through the initiative Project Comeback.
Project Comeback, part of the foundation Kikid and founded by Barbara Barend, focuses on improving the mental and physical health of young people. Through a challenge, we invite students to develop technical solutions that can enhance the impact of the Project Comeback program.
