Feeling adventurous? With the minor Study Abroad, the world is open to you! Fontys has various partner universities across the globe where you can do your minor. You'll build a 30 ECTS study programme that aligns with your interests. You could focus more on a specific subject from your major, or broaden your horizons by choosing different courses.

Your main contactperson is the International coordinator of your study programme

Note: If you choose the minor Study Abroad, be sure to enrol via ProgressWWW!

Practical information

Language: Dutch and English

Location: abroad

Please note: The minor Abroad has different deadlines for registration because many things have to be arranged in advance (including visa, housing abroad, airline tickets, etc.).

Financial support

There are various scholarships available for Fontys students who follow the Minor Abroad at Fontys partner institutions.

For example:

  • The Erasmus+ scholarship is available for Fontys students who are going to Study Abroad at a Partner University or do an Internship Abroad.
  • Holland Scholarship Programme is a scholarship from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and is co-funded by Dutch Universities. It is available for students who will study abroad, or internship. It is available for students, studying in the Netherlands, and going outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

If you are dealing with an economic circumstance or health circumstance, you can apply for a supplementary Erasmus+ grant. The monthly grant amount will then amount to €500 to €600 per month. If you travel without any circumstances, you should take into account around €250 - €350 per month. These amounts are a gift and you do not have to repay them.

Have you already thought about your choice of minor? Do you want to immerse yourself in your profession, or do something completely different? Your choice of your minor can be quite difficult. The most important thing is that you choose something that really suits you. This way you can distinguish yourself from others and make your studies even more personal. But how do you choose? And what can you choose?

(Online) minor information week
To help you with your choice, we organise an (online) minor orientation week in March '24. During these information sessions, you will learn more about the content of the minors and you can ask any question you may have. You can register here for the orientation week.
