You do not need to be a programmer to succeed in this programme. The Master AI Translator is designed for students who are curious about AI and want to understand how to apply it responsibly within organisations. The focus is on translating AI into practical, ethical and human centred solutions, rather than on coding or algorithm development.
Traditional AI or computer science programmes often emphasise algorithms, modelling and engineering. The Master AI Translator goes beyond the technical layer by integrating AI, ethics, law, communication and change management. You learn how to bring stakeholders together, assess risks, and guide organisations through the responsible adoption of AI. This programme prepares you to become a bridge between technology and society.
You will work on authentic, multi disciplinary assignments from organisations exploring the use of AI. These projects may come from sectors such as healthcare, industry or government. They typically involve analysing opportunities, identifying ethical and legal considerations, and designing AI driven solutions that can genuinely be implemented in practice.
Yes. The Master AI Translator is a joint degree offered by Fontys University of Applied Sciences and Avans University of Applied Sciences. This means the programme is co developed and delivered across institutions, giving you access to cross sector expertise, broader professional networks and region specific strengths. Joint degrees also ensure strong alignment with labour market needs.
A core part of this master’s programme is learning how to work effectively with non technical stakeholders, build trust and create support for AI projects. Throughout the programme, you practise explaining AI concepts in accessible language, facilitating workshops, gathering user insights and guiding teams through organisational change. You learn how to balance technological potential with ethical, legal and practical considerations, ensuring that AI solutions are both responsible and widely supported.
