Get a good impression of what your study programme will look like.
As a logistics engineer, you make predictions and improve the supply chain. You analyze big data and discover key trends. During the HBO Logistics Engineering program, you will learn everything about data and technology to improve logistical processes. The Fontys Logistics Engineering Programme combines theory, hands-on projects and practical experience.
The first year focuses on building broad business knowledge across finance, business, logistics and marketing. You work on company projects while learning the fundamentals of logistics and business. After your first year you focus on developing knowledge in warehousing, distribution, production, and integrated logistics, along with essential business expertise and interpersonal skills.
In year 1, you work together with students from International Business, International Finance & Control, Marketing Management and Logistics Management, and explore the basics of logistics and business. Understand how these disciplines connect in company decision-making. After this year, you can continue with the Logistics Engineering programme or you can switch to another programme without study delay.
With the start of the second year, you choose one out of two study profiles: Supply Chain Engineer or Supply Chain Analyst. In your second year, you build technical and data-driven expertise in logistics with subjects such as operations management, production systems, warehousing and logistics simulation. You apply theory in hands-on projects that focus on optimisation and innovation.
Discover the full scope of logistics in one semester. The third year offers a blend of hands-on experience and academic enrichment. You have the opportunity to do an internship at a company of your choice, gaining real-world insights. You can choose a minor to deepen or broaden your knowledge at Fontys or abroad, or take part in a research project that fits your technical interests. Study at Fontys, at another university in the Netherlands, or at one of our 125 partner universities abroad.
In your final year, you deepen your expertise within your chosen profile and work on a company project linked to your technical expertise. In the final semester, you complete your graduation internship and bachelor thesis, tackling a real engineering-based logistics problem. After completing it, you’ll earn your Bachelor of Science and you are ready for a career in logistics.
