Student experiences

Explore new technologies.

Martin

Graduate Bachelor ICT

Entering my third year at Fontys, I joined PIT - an institute dedicated to developing virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) projects with the aim of improving the educational experience. My involvement with them gave me the opportunity to explore new technologies and their potential impact on education.

I learned a lot in working professionally in a team.

Beatrice

Student Bachelor ICT

As a Bachelor ICT third semester Software Engineering student, I have learned a lot about working in the technology field, not just in terms of software development, but also of working professionally in a team. What I particularly appreciate about Fontys is the opportunity to work on a variety of real projects. Fontys is also very attentive with keeping up in the constantly changing IT sector; curriculums are continually revised and updated, and the buildings are brand new

Diamonds are made under pressure.

Adrian

Student Bachelor ICT

My name is Adrian, and I am a Bachelor ICT third-semester technology student. I believe that my major point of development provided by Fontys was self-sufficiency. I came to the Netherlands as a frightened teenager to study a field in which I had only a little experience. The beginnings were hard; however, thanks to a lot of amazing people I have met here, I was able to settle in and feel comfortable studying here. I believe I found things I am passionate about. The thing I like most about this school is that I really feel challenged to be better at both technical and professional skills. Sometimes, it can get really challenging, but diamonds are made under pressure.

Amazing lesson that I will never forget!

Anton

Student Bachelor ICT

One lesson was about Making Assumptions, a lesson which one specific teacher wanted us to learn. The teacher said “Draw a flower in 5 minutes”. We all started drawing and in 3-4 minutes he looked at a student’s laptop and asked him “Where is the Vase?” to which we all stopped drawing and looked confused. He said he expected us to not make assumptions about what he wanted but ask questions. We all just started working and never asked a question. Amazing lesson that I will never forget!
