    About Meet & Match

Fontys Meet & Match is the annual event where companies and students come together to talk to each other. Mainly companies active in the technology sector meet students from Fontys Engineering, Fontys Industrial Engineering and Management and Fontys Natural Sciences. The aim of the event is to make the perfect match between company and student. This mainly for an internship or graduation assignment, but certainly also for a (side) job.

  •   Programme

    Programme

The aim of the Fontys Meet & Match is to create valuable interactions between students and companies. The programme is divided into three parts, giving both companies and students the opportunity to profile themselves, ask questions and explore potential collaborations. This provides a unique opportunity for students to gain insight into the business community and for companies to meet interested talents.

    Speed dates

Companies and students participate in a speed dating event, filling in their profiles in advance. Companies indicate which type of students they want to meet and students which companies they find interesting. We make the perfect match!

    Company Market

At the company market, students and companies will have the opportunity to meet informally. In this setting, they can get to know each other better, see if there is a match and find out if there are opportunities for cooperation.

    Company Presentations

Companies will also have the opportunity to present themselves to interested students. Through inspiring presentations, they can explain in detail their corporate culture, operations and opportunities for cooperation.

"You find out through the interviews what you find interesting and what you do not. You get a better idea of what your ambitions are and where you see yourself working and where you don't."
    Koen, fourth-year Mechatronics student

What does the programme look like?

The aim of the event for students is to engage with companies. Companies and students will engage with each other during a physical event. The format includes two elements, from which you are free to choose:

    Speed date with a company

During a 20-minute speed date, 2nd-, 3rd- or 4th-year students (hbo and/or mbo) engage in a conversation with a company. In advance, companies and all students fill in their own profile. Companies indicate which type of student (profile) they want to talk to. For example, with 2nd-year Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering students. The students indicate which companies they would like to engage with. In this way, companies and students are matched. As a student, you will have several speed date interviews with companies that match your stated preference. The speed dates are scheduled in advance, giving everyone a personalised schedule for the day.

    Company Market

The company market is open to all students. Here, more than 200 companies present themselves. Companies are mostly active in the high-tech and/or manufacturing industry.

Which students can participate in Meet & Match?

    Why work with Fontys Technology?

Fontys Technology collaborates with companies and organisations on technological challenges with impact. We connect education, research and professional practice, using technology as the starting point. This results in solutions that are relevant to the professional field while preparing students to be ready for practice.

For companies, working with Fontys Technology means access to technical talent, up-to-date knowledge and modern facilities. For students and researchers, it means working on real challenges in a professional context. Together, we strengthen innovation in the region.

How can you work with us?

Fontys Technology offers various ways to collaborate with students, researchers and programmes. Below you can see how your organisation can contribute to education and research while benefiting from technical talent, up-to-date knowledge and fresh ideas.

Companies can collaborate with our students in several ways, including:

Internships (work placement, orientation or short-term internships)
A student works within your organisation for an agreed period on a concrete technical challenge. This allows you to bring in current technical knowledge and fresh ideas, while getting to know young technical talent.

    Graduation projects
During a graduation project, a student focuses in depth on a technical challenge within your organisation. The project results in new insights and a well-founded, concrete outcome.

    Practice-oriented projects
A small group of students works together for a short period on a technical challenge from your organisation. This brings fresh perspectives and ideas, while students apply their knowledge directly in practice.

    Company visits
During a company visit, students get to know your organisation and its technological practice. This is a low-threshold way to present your company and inspire students for future collaboration.

Students bring technical knowledge, a fresh perspective and new ideas. For companies, working with students is an accessible way to get to know young technical talent and contribute to the development of future professionals.

Do you have a concrete assignment? You can easily submit it via OnStage. Would you prefer to first explore what is possible or discuss which form of collaboration best suits your organisation? Please feel free to contact Mark or Muriel at technology-samenwerken@fontys.nl.

In addition to collaboration in education, Fontys Technology also offers opportunities for practice-oriented research and innovation. Companies can work together with researchers and research groups on:

    • research and innovation projects

    • technological development and validation

    • testing and experimentation in technical labs

    • knowledge development around relevant themes

These collaborations take place within our research lines and in connection with the Centre of Expertise High Tech Systems & Materials (HTSM).

Companies can also contribute directly to education, for example by:

    • giving guest lectures

    • acting as jury members for projects or events

    • sharing real-life cases from practice

    • contributing to the development of educational content

In this way, programmes remain closely aligned with developments in the professional field and education stays relevant and up to date.

  •   Facilities and network

    Facilities and network

Collaboration at Fontys Technology takes place not only through projects, but also within our facilities and networks. This is where students, researchers and companies meet, work together on technology and where new ideas and connections emerge.

Fontys Technology has a wide range of technical labs and facilities that are used for education, research and collaboration with companies. In these environments, students, researchers and companies work together to design, build, test and improve technology.

The facilities provide space for experimentation, validation and innovation in a professional setting.

Fontys Technology actively brings companies and students together. A key example is the annual networking event Fontys Meet & Match, where technology companies and students meet, exchange knowledge and start new collaborations.

In addition to this event, we also organise other meetings and activities in which connection and collaboration are central.
