A podiatrist specialises in the movement analysis of the lower limbs (foot, knee, hip) right up to the lower back.

To investigate the cause of the symptoms, the functioning of the whole body is assessed. It is important to examine the relationship between the symptoms – whether present or not – and the movements in the lower limbs, from the foot right up to the lower back.

The FCHM is the ideal place to bring together knowledge, theory and practice. The examinations and treatments are carried out by the students under the supervision of a lecturer. Depending on the students’ level, the examinations and potential treatments become increasingly complex.

Clients with low-, medium- and high-complexity foot-related complaints can book an appointment for the multidisciplinary consultation. Under the supervision of a lecturer, the podiatry student carries out an assessment based on the client’s needs, examining the function of the foot in conjunction with a movement analysis, and develops a tailored treatment plan.
