We are happy to help.
Compared to the research university master: a more applied approach, starts from a problem in daily practice (less form theory), finds a theory that fits the problem instead of vice versa. Compared to an applied bachelor: designs more general solutions, solves a category of problems with given attributes, solutions are more future-proof. Both masters lead to a Master of Science (MSc) degree.
During the master, the focus will be more on research including literature research and experimenting. Your professionalism in IT serves as a means to substantiate your findings in the context of applied research.
Instead of traditional subject-based courses, you learn by working in multidisciplinary research teams on real-world challenges, complemented by research-related workshops and guest lectures.
We don’t use separate tests, but work with integrated portfolio assessments. The focus is on continuous learning, so you can show your progress and development throughout the programme.
In full-time education, the study load is 40 hours a week, of which you spend 3 days at the Fontys ICT InnovationLab. In part-time education, your study load is 20 hours a week. You will spend 1 day on location in the first year.
