Programme Purple

The Fontys Purple introduction week consists of various components. You probably start 'on a smaller scale' during the programme-specific days, which take place on Monday and/or Tuesday and/or Friday, depending on the institute and programme you are enrolling in. On these days, you will get to know your fellow students, teachers, and the programme itself. Each programme strives to give you the warmest possible welcome. The structure of these days is determined by the programme's introduction committee.

*The schedule for your introduction week can be found at Fresh at Fontys. Click on the city you are going to study and the programme you will follow. You can also find all the information on Tactile. After registration you will receive a message to create an account, log in and download the app (Purple Introduction Fontys).

In the morning till early afternoon, you can explore various sports and local (student) sports clubs through the Student Sports Centre Eindhoven or Tilburg University Sports Center. In the late afternoon, you can join the Vibes Student Festival (Eindhoven), the Intro Festival (Tilburg), or one of the city programmes in Venlo and Sittard. Den Bosch can join the Tilburg programme. These activities are organized by the municipalities and/or local hospitality venues in collaboration with Fontys.

In Eindhoven, all educational institutions (mbo, hbo, wo) are invited, including Summa, Sint Lucas, De Rooi Pannen, and TU/e. The same applies to Tilburg, but for educational institutions Yonder, de Rooi Pannen and Tilburg University.

15.00 – 17.30 The Biggest Music Bingo ever! ​| Show is powered by ‘The Music Bingo’, a familliar concept on Stratumseind. It is not your average bingo – it’s a music fueled battle with awesome prizes! ​Not into Bingo?​ Visit the to-do zones, the low stimuli hangout or one of the other activities. Discover the secret stage with 3 different music styles!​
17.30 – 22.00 The Party Starts! ​| Local heroes kicking off with a DJ set, followed by Eindhoven’s own DJ La Fuente!​ More live acts including Trobi, Kruzo & other special guests! ​In the meanwhile, the secret stage keeps pumping!​ Latin, House, Dutch Classics and more.

More about Intro Festival (Tilburg)
The Intro Festival starts at 4:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM at Willemsplein, right in the heart of Tilburg city center. The headliner is Turfy Gang, known for hits like Ushuaia, Padellen, and After van de After. Also confirmed is Lotje, the artist behind the current student anthem. More names will be announced soon.

What else can you expect? There’s a consent zone (raising awareness about unwanted behavior), various food trucks, three bars, and enough space to welcome 4,000 students.

*We have moticed that the joint educational institutions’ city programme in Den Bosch has been cancelled. Students from this Fontys location are also welcome at the Intro Festival in Tilburg.

Meer over Campus feest (Sittard)
Here a student-only party will takes place from 4 PM to 10 PM at location Fontys Sittard.

We wrap up the introduction week with a bang! On Thursday, August 28th, from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the Purple Festival will take place in Leijpark, Tilburg, bringing together the entire Fontys community. Participants from all Fontys cities and all study programmes will come together at the Purple Festival to enjoy a full day of artists and activities spread across various stages. It's the perfect way to end the introduction week in style with a party that you and your new friends, classmates, and teachers will be talking about for a long time.

The return journey is provided by buses. If you already live in Tilburg or the surrounding area, you can of course just cycle to the Purple Festival!

A ticket is included for the entire introduction week. So you do NOT have to buy a separate festival ticket if you participate in the introduction week as a first-year student (intro-participant) or supervisor (intro-parent).

Senior Fontys students, Fontys alumni, and other students are also welcome at the Purple Festival. This includes mbo/hbo/wo students, as well as staff who want to experience a day of Purple. Tickets for Purple Festival 2025 can be purchased here.
