Programme structure for the next four years

The first year immerses you in foundational courses, developing your designer attitude. In years 2 and 3, engage in eight studio projects, workshops, and international study trips. Culminating in year 4, tackle urgent societal issues through a comprehensive graduation studio.

Year 1
Tilburg

First year

We welcome graduates from diverse schools, disciplines, and cultural and professional backgrounds. In the first year, you’ll focus on developing a designer’s perspective on the world. The Core studio programme includes skill-based training and theoretical foundations in architecture, urban design, economy, sustainable design, and art history. Your progress will be assessed through a comprehensive portfolio.

Year 2 - 3
Tilburg

Second and third year

During the second and third year, you’ll complete eight studio projects, workshops, and numerous advanced skill-based trainings. You’ll engage in research and an in-depth theory programme. Studio assessments will challenge you with various assignments, methodologies, and complexities. Each year, you’ll organise an international study trip to test your skills in new contexts and explore different approaches to challenges.

Year 4
Tilburg

Fourth year

Your graduation studio project spans a year, with individual or team formats. You'll follow process-based planning, supported by personal and external tutors, and project reviews at the academy. Three months of research and analysis address your chosen issues. Attend professional lectures for inspiration, aiming to tackle urgent societal issues through interconnected research, strategies, and design work.Get inspired by these graduation projects of our alumni.
