Experience Fontys Bachelor MIRT. In year 1, you’ll focus on orientation and teamwork. The next year, find out everything about advanced imaging and radiation planning. Year 3 includes a 20-week internship and a minor. The final year combines another internship with a graduation project.
The MIRT programme at Fontys University of Applied Sciences prepares you as a medical imaging and radiotherapy expert. Note that additional work experience or proof of skill may be required in your home country due to varying regulations on operating radiation devices.

You will learn to work with medical imaging technologies such as MRI, CT, SPECT, and X-ray. The programme also covers radiation therapy, radiation safety, anatomy, pathology, and patient communication. Expect around 20 hours of classes per week, alongside project work and practical lab sessions.
Yes. Working with real patients is an important part of the programme. During your internships in years 3 and 4, you gain hands-on experience in a professional healthcare setting. This prepares you to work confidently with patients from the start of your career.
Graduates work in hospitals, clinics, and research settings. Common roles include diagnostic radiographer, radiation therapist, imaging specialist, and clinical researcher.
