During your studies in Marketing Management, practice is key: engage in teamwork while focusing on personal development. You will follow classes and apply your knowledge immediately in projects so that you slowly but surely become the expert in the field of (digital) marketing and sales.
The Marketing Management bachelor’s is a four-year programme. It starts with a broad foundation in areas such as business, marketing and supply chain. As the programme progresses, students choose a profile that best fits their interests and talents. Learning takes place in a personal and international environment, with strong attention to communication skills, teamwork, interviewing, and presenting.
In year 1, you’ll work together with students from International Business, Logistics and International Finance & Control, while exploring the basics of marketing and commerce and understand how these areas connect in company decision-making. You acquire and develop relevant soft skills, such as communication, negotiation, teamwork, professionalism, and responsibility. You will also set up your own business, a Student Company in which you develop the knowledge and skills needed to successfully grow a company. After this year, you can continue within the Marketing Management programme or you can switch to another programme without study delay.
You already have an idea of what interests you, but want to explore what really suits you before making a final choice. Learn through practical experience in a flexible study structure, without unnecessary stress, delay or extra costs.
Why choose a joint first year?
The programmes are closely connected and prepare you to work across disciplines. This structure gives you more opportunity to explore your strengths, reduces pressure when making choices and allows you to switch programmes smoothly if needed.
During the second year, you deepen your marketing expertise with courses like brand management, digital marketing, and marketing controlling. Based on your interests, you choose one out of two study profiles: Marketing & Sales Manager or Digital Marketing Manager. Engage in practical projects and collaborate with students from various programmes and nationalities to enhance creativity and communication skills.
Year 3 focuses on practical application and broadening your professional skills in a free choice semester. You have the freedom to shape a semester to suit your interests. Combine it with an internship in the Netherlands or abroad, study a minor or do a premaster at Fontys or another university, or take on an extra project to broaden your marketing experience.
In year 4, you’ll focus on your study profile with advanced courses and a company project connected to your chosen specialisation. Conclude with a six-month internship and bachelor thesis addressing a practical company problem and presenting findings in a graduation report to earn the Bachelor of Science degree.
