What suits me?

There are countless study programmes, but what really suits you? On this page, you will find a step-by-step plan to get started with choosing another study. You start by looking back at your (previous) studies, then identify your talents, qualities and interests. From this self-knowledge, you can start looking at study programmes to eventually make a new study choice.

Looking back at your current (or previous) studies

To make a new study choice, it is valuable to reflect on your previous study choice. By looking back at previous choices, you will be more aware of the options you have and which option suits you best. The reflection questions below can help you with this.

  • Why did you choose your current study programme?
  • Think about your current study programme, what did suit you? (For example, certain subjects, type of education etc.)
  • What definitely didn't suit you?
  • What did you learn about yourself during your current study programme?
  • What is your most important question about your (study) career right now?
  • What do you already know about my qualities, interests and talents?
  • What do you already know about what you are looking for?
  • What will help you make a choice?

Step 3: Study choice

Compare study programmes and make a choice

In step 2, you may have seen some study programmes that appeal to you. In step 3, you will compare these study programmes. You can take the following characteristics into account:

  • City;
  • Way of teaching (e.g. lots of practice, group work or lectures);
  • Examination;
  • Possible specialisations;
  • Admission requirements;
  • Labour market possibiltities;
  • Culture/atmosphere.

Hopefully you can find something you are excited about and can tie the knot!
