Course description
Regardless of what ‘business’ you are in, using the English language appropriately (for that business) is paramount.
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to use English for business purposes, focusing on ‘persuasive use of the language’: in the current era of Articifial Intelligence one has to differentiate and find different ways to ‘get the message across’.
Since students have different backgrounds and competences, you will have the opportunity to define their own learning goals within the business context. You will make a plan how and when to work on these goals and during the course you can share your progress in class and finally reflect on your results.

- Produce a written business product, which contains the required content of the assignment;
- Use an appropriate and appealing tone of voice in his/her writing;
- Organise the written product in an effective way;
- Demonstrate a rich vocabulary, especially in a business context;
- Use a correct spelling, punctuation and grammar in the written product;
- Reflect on his/her own learning goals;
General course information
Required previous knowledge
While you can start learning business-context words at a CEFR B1 level of English, it is advised to start this module at a CEFR B2 level of English.

Course material will be provided online and in class.
Way of working
The style of teaching is based on interaction. Students are given specific tasks which they need to complete, after which peer feedback added to the didactic approach.

A portfolio with all the course work, inclusive of proof of the in-class assessments (i.e. a business pitch and article.
