Ending the week with energy!

We wrap up the Wellbeing Days with activities that recharge you and motivate you to keep taking good care of yourself, even after this week. An energising finale full of inspiration.

This overview shows all activities available to non-Dutch speakers. The full programme is broader, but the activities shown here are offered in English or bilingually (English and Dutch).

During the Wellbeing Days, the Fontys Digital Library highlights a special selection of e-books, articles, podcasts and videos, all centred around the theme of Wellbeing.

Registration

You can register for an activity via the button in the programme below. This button redirects you to the Student Sports Centre (SSC) website. Follow these steps to reserve your activity:

  • Log in to the SSC-website
  • Click the blue Fontys button (do not use 'register')
  • Confirm your details ( first-time login only)
  • Go to 'Shop' and select the Wellbeing Days tile
  • Choose the correct week and day (13–15 January) in the calendar and click 'Reserve' to sign up
  • You will receive a confirmation email
  • You can check or cancel your booking(s) under My bookings

Activities are open to both students and staff, unless explicitly stated otherwise.


Programme

You will receive a fun and intensive 30-minute lesson with an instructor. High Intensity Interval Training is a method that involves relatively short periods of intense activity and active rest. It is the perfect morning class to start your day actively and full of energy. Clean indoor shoes and a towel are required!

Whether you are completely new to the gym or already have some experience, a tour of our Gym is always a good idea and is guaranteed to give you a fresh or new perspective. Together with our instructor, you will explore the entire gym and pick up all kinds of tips and tricks. You will learn about the equipment, free zones, how to use weights, what the house rules are, and everything else you always wanted to know. Don't forget your clean indoor shoes and a towel!

Would you like to gain more insight into your health status and get professional advice? Then come to our health check where a health measurement is carried out with modern equipment.

During the Wellbeing Days, you can enjoy a relaxing massage. The massages are provided by physiotherapy students who already have a solid base of practical experience. It’s a true win–win: for you, it’s a pleasant moment to unwind and become more aware of your body, and for the students, it’s a valuable and practice-oriented learning experience.

Strengthen, stretch and re-energise yourself. Join our Pilates class to strengthen your core, improve your flexibility and feel your best! Arrive on time to get the most out of your class. A towel is required.

POWER YOGA – is an energetic style of yoga that combines flowing movements with strength-building poses. The focus is on breathing, movement and endurance, so that you build muscle, improve flexibility and increase mental clarity. You will feel both challenged and balanced. 

Arrive at the yoga class on time so you can start calmly and get the most out of your practice. Bring a towel and warm clothing for the cool-down.

In this class, you will restore, refresh and revitalize your body. Join our Stretch/Active Recovery class and recover gently with low-impact movements, improve your mobility and reduce muscle tension. Each class uses different materials. You will also learn various safe stretching techniques so that you can work on your flexibility outside of class.  

Arrive on time to get the most out of your class. A towel is mandatory.

Come and play futsal at E.S.Z.V.V. Totelos! Our training session is open to all levels, whether you are stepping onto the indoor pitch for the first time or have years of experience. ZUMBA - Combines energetic and motivating music with unique movements and combinations that help Zumba participants dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be ‘FUN AND EASY TO DO’. Zumba is a ‘feel-happy’ workout that is good for both your body and your mind.

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and Olympic sport known for its dynamic kicking techniques, speed, and flexibility. Our training sessions include strength, conditioning, and flexibility work, followed by drills that develop skills from fundamental movements to advanced techniques. Practitioners of all experience levels are welcome.

We will end the Wellbeing days for students in a fun way with Brain Bites. Coziness, fun, togetherness, and relaxation through a fun quiz (with a broad range of topics) and free bitterballen and a drink, as the perfect closure of a week dedicated to well-being. 

Afterwards, you can stay in the sportcafé, go home, or go out, everything is possible.
