What is coaching by an Exercise and Lifestyle coach?

An Exercise- and Lifestyle coach is a professional that coaches others to reach their personal goals related to health, fitness and vitality. This goes beyond only physical training: the coach also has medical knowledge and can help with exercises if you are injured or if you experience physical complaints. It often takes behavioural changes to reach your goals.

More movement and less stress: 1 + 1 = 3

This year, there is extra attention to stress reduction as part of Lifestyle Training+. As part of the training program we help you deal with (study) stress in a healthy way.

What does the programme look like?

The first session will (partly) be an intake. In the following sessions, you work on your strength and endurance while being taught specific exercises to avoid injuries. During these sessions, you are taught practical tools so that you are able to make the right choices to work on achieving your goals independently as well. After the training program, you should have enough knowledge and tips to be able to sustain your new lifestyle habits. You will be guided by a 3rd or 4th-year student in Sport sciences under supervision from teachers.

Costs, location and time

As a student you can join the program for FREE. You will get 10 personal training sessions of one hour each. The training sessions are planned after you sign up (according to your schedule).

The possible time slots are:

  • Monday between 09:00 and 17:00;
  • Tuesday between 09:00 and 12:00 and between 15:00 and 17:00;
  • Wednesday between 09:00 and 17:00;
  • Thursday between 09:00 and 17:00;
  • Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.


We have two designated fitness areas at which the training takes place: one at Fontys Sporthogeschool (Genneperparken) and one at Paramedische Hogeschool (Theodoor Fliednerstraat 2). In consultation with you as a participant, trainings might also take place outside and coaching sessions might take place through MS Teams.
