What is menstrual poverty?

In the Netherlands, 1 in 10 (young) women does not always have enough money tu buy pads or tampons. These products have become more expensive because of higher material and transport costs. As a result, more people are having problems getting the products they need.

What is a MUP?

Luckily, there is a support fund in the Netherlands that helps with this problem. The Armoedefonds gives out free menstrual products through special pick-up points called MUPs (Menstrual Product Distribution Points). At these points, you can find different types, sizes, and brands of pads, tampons, and menstrual cups. Even if you struggle with your finances, you can still choose the product that fits you best.

Forgot your menstrual products?

It happens to everyone sometimes! You can best use the toilets where free products are available for direct use (read below).

Locations

There are over 1,500 MUPs in the Netherlands. Fontys is also a MUP, so these products are easy to access for students who need them.
