Dual Degrees Overview
Fontys ICT Eindhoven facilitates students in completing two bachelor’s degrees by spending the initial 3 years at their home university and the final 1-2 years at Fontys in Eindhoven. Situated in the vibrant Brainport region, Fontys provides students a valuable entry into the job market, fostering connections with innovative companies. Graduates of Dual Degrees from Fontys ICT have gone on to become successful professionals in various Brainport high-tech companies.
Programme Structure
The programmes have recently undergone renewal to align with Fontys ICT’s updated curriculum. Previously, a one-year programme encompassed content from semesters 7 and 8. Now, programmes last 1, 1.5, or 2 years, tailored to the student’s prior knowledge.
Student Eligibility
An intake process in the Partner Universities evaluates students based on:
- GPA score of 3.5 to 4 (on a 4 point scale)
- Language proficiency (IELTS 6.0 average or Cambridge level C1/B2)
Selection Process
Given that the partner university and Fontys ICT have entered into an agreement regarding the Dual Degree. The Partner University identifies interested students and, upon confirmation of motivation, presents them to Fontys. Application files, including a motivation letter, a portfolio of projects and applied knowledge, transcript of current results, secondary school diploma, IELTS test results (no older than 2 years), and a passport copy, are submitted to fontysict-dualdegree@fontys.nl. Eligible students undergo an intake at Fontys, where knowledge, experience, and practical skills are assessed. A binding proposal is made based on this assessment.
Dual Degree and Employment
Upon completion, students receive a Dual Degree from Fontys ICT and their home university, offering a valuable advantage in the job market. Many graduates choose to work in the Brainport region, contributing to its dynamic technical landscape.
