Fontys ICT has successfully implemented Dual Degree programmes
in ICT & Software Engineering and ICT & Business over the past decades in collaboration with
partner universities in Asia.
Dual Degrees Overview
Fontys ICT Eindhoven facilitates students in completing two bachelor’s degrees by spending the initial 3 years at their home university and the final 1-2 years at Fontys in Eindhoven. Situated in the vibrant Brainport region, Fontys provides students a valuable entry into the job market, fostering connections with innovative companies. Graduates of Dual Degrees from Fontys ICT have gone on to become successful professionals in various Brainport high-tech companies.

The programmes have recently undergone renewal to align with Fontys ICT’s updated curriculum. Previously, a one-year programme encompassed content from semesters 7 and 8. Now, programmes last 1, 1.5, or 2 years, tailored to the student’s prior knowledge.
Student Eligibility
An intake process in the Partner Universities evaluates students based on:
- GPA score of 3 to 4 (on a 4 point scale)
- Language proficiency (IELTS 6.0 average or Cambridge level C1/B2)
Selection Process
The partner university and Fontys ICT have entered into a Double Degree agreement. The partner university identifies interested students and, after confirming their motivation, introduces them to Fontys.
Application documents (including a motivation letter, a portfolio of projects and applied knowledge, an up-to-date academic transcript, a high school diploma, IELTS test results less than two years old, and a copy of the passport) must be sent to fontysict-dualdegree@fontys.nl.
Note: Passport details must not be sent to any other address.Eligible students undergo an initial assessment at Fontys to evaluate their knowledge, experience, and practical skills. Based on this assessment, a binding proposal is issued. For further details, please consult the Fontys website:
Information about the assessmentApplication
The application process for the Fontys Double Degree programme consists of the following steps:
The student’s home university must have an active Double Degree agreement with Fontys ICT. Students can only apply through a participating partner university
Interested students should contact the designated Double Degree coordinator at their home university. The home university explains the programme and checks whether the student meets its initial requirements
The home university assesses the student’s motivation and suitability for the programme. It then selects and nominates suitable candidates to Fontys ICT.
The nominated student prepares the following documents:
- letter of motivation;
- portfolio showing projects and applied knowledge;
- recent academic transcript;
- high school diploma;
- valid English-language test results;
- passport copy, if required for the application or enrolment process.
The English-language requirements and accepted tests are described on the Fontys website.
The application documents must be submitted to fontysict-dualdegree@fontys.nl, following the instructions provided by the home university and Fontys.
Important: Passport details are sensitive personal information. They must not be sent to any other email address or unauthorised recipient.
Fontys assesses the nominated student’s:
- academic knowledge;
- previous experience;
- practical and project-related skills;
- motivation and suitability for the Double Degree programme.
Fontys may request additional information or clarification if necessary.
Following the assessment, Fontys issues a proposal based on the student’s academic background, experience, and practical skills. This proposal sets out the outcome of the Fontys assessment and the applicable study arrangements.
After the Fontys assessment, the student follows the formal admission and enrolment instructions provided by Fontys. The student should not consider the application complete until all required admission and enrolment steps have been fulfilled.

Dual Degree and Employment
