Finding a place to live can be challenging, so we recommend starting early! Fontys helps students by reserving a limited number of accommodations for first-year international students, but demand is high. Find out more about accommodation in the Netherlands by visiting our dedicated page.

Yes! The Netherlands is a very safe country to live with a high standard of living and excellent healthcare. Dutch cities are student-friendly, and most people speak English, making it easy to ask for help. Like in any country, it’s good to stay aware of your surroundings, especially in busy areas. But overall, the Netherlands is a very welcoming and secure place to live and study.
We understand that studying abroad is a big step, both for students and their families. That is why we dedicated a page to informing parents and/or carers of international students. You can check the information here.
