AI-systems; High Tech AI Solutions
- Starts February and September
- English
- 30 ECTS
- 5 months
Want to discover
- How AI influences Vision, IoT, and Robotics disciplines in real world industrial applications
- How Edge Computing changes the design of IoT systems?
- How systems can learn behaviour and optimize processes instead of being fully pre programmed?
- How digital twinning can help simulate real-world processes?
- Why the small scale of Venlo facilitates a unique eco system for this multidisciplinary minor?
Programme in brief
In this program we welcome you as exchange students from our partner institutes. The minor AI Systems; High Tech AI Solutions offers a short, fixed introduction program and then switches to electable courses and project work. In this phase, you develop knowledge and skills at the intersection of artificial intelligence, technology, and business, in an on demand and self directed way.
This crossover forms the basis of modern high tech engineering and is ideally suited for developing innovative AI based solutions required by today’s industries, such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and smart systems.
What to expect from us
The student gains insight into AI applications from both a technological and business perspective. They learn how to measure, analyse, and interpret data from complex systems and how to design and regulate AI driven solutions in order to optimize processes, performance, and outcomes.
What do we expect from you?
You develop your own studies with passion and talent and are stimulated to rise above yourself in one or more themes in order to earn a place in the professional field. The education is demand driven, allowing you to develop your talents to the fullest. We provide the opportunities, but the student creates their own path.
Content of the programme
In this minor, students connect the world of AI systems, technology, and business administration. Technical systems and AI driven solutions are integrated to gain deeper insight into complex processes and to make systems function more efficiently, intelligently, and sustainably. The goal is to translate data and AI models into practical, applicable solutions for current and future high tech industries.
The most important themes for the supporting courses are indicated below. This is not exhaustive and the themes depend on project content and personal interest.
- Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning – Supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, model training, evaluation, and deployment
- Data Analytics – Big Data, data acquisition and preprocessing, data conversion, clustering and classification, data intensive sensors, data driven decision making
- Synthetic Data & Simulation – Data generation, digital twinning, simulation of system behaviour
- Machine Vision – Cameras as sensors, image processing algorithms, recognition, and AI based perception
- Internet of Things (IoT) & Edge Computing – Sensor networks, edge intelligence, system architecture, real time data processing
- Robotics & Autonomous Systems – Robotic systems, kinematics, behaviour learning, control, programming, and toolchains
