Course description
This course introduces students to Power BI as a business intelligence tool and guides them through the complete process of transforming raw data into meaningful insights. Students learn how to connect to data sources (primarily Excel), clean and structure data, perform basic analytical calculations, and design clear and impactful dashboards.
The course follows a hands-on, practice-oriented approach, starting with exploratory learning to build familiarity and confidence. Students gradually develop the skills to create interactive reports, apply basic data transformations, and use simple DAX calculations to support decision-making.
By the end of the course, students are able to build a professional Power BI dashboard that not only visualizes data but also communicates business insights effectively through KPIs and clear design
principles.

General course information
Required previous knowledge
• Basic Excel skills (e.g., working with tables, formulas such as SUM)
• Basic understanding of business concepts (e.g., revenue, costs, performance indicators)
• No prior experience with Power BI is required

Some scientific articles, blogs, vlogs and tutorials will be made available.
Way of working
This course is practice-oriented and interactive, with a balance between short theoretical
explanations and hands-on exercises.
Exam
Your portfolio will be a collection of evidence, showing how you developed your PowerBI-skills. This evidence will be accumulated throughout the weeks that the course is scheduled.
