Course description
This is an introductory language course tailored for exchange students with no prior knowledge of Dutch. This course focuses on building essential communication skills for everyday situations, making it easier for students to navigate life in the Netherlands. We will study the basics of Dutch and you will learn how to introduce yourself, gather information, make an appointment and order food and drinks. Through interactive lessons, you will learn basic vocabulary, key phrases, and fundamental grammar. The course also provides cultural insights to enhance understanding and appreciation of Dutch customs and traditions.
Competences and learning objectives
After the course you will be able to:
- Write a short message and fill in forms with your personal details;
- Read familiar names, words, restaurant menu and very simple sentences;
- Understand familiar words and very basis phrases when people speak slowly and clearly;
- Interact in a simple way, ask and answer simple questions on familiar topics;
- Use simple phrases and sentences to describe where student lives and people student knows.
