Dwayne Toemere
Dwayne Toemere is a theatre maker and artistic researcher with Surinamese-Indigenous roots. His work tells stories that help people heal, remember, and speak up. He focuses on queer identity, ancestral knowledge, and the effects of colonial history. Dwayne is part of the ATD Lectorate. Two of his current projects are children’s performances like Skeletje (with Maas Theatre and Dance) and Jaguar (with Villa Zapakara and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra). His theatre work is a space for connection, imagination, and cultural strength.
