DAY 3, FRI OCT 24 | Curtain Call
On this third and final day, we gather at MindLabs and travel to Eindhoven to visit the renowned Dutch Design Week (DDW) and see curated live journalism performances at MU Gallery.
A visit to Dutch Design Week is highly recommended. Danielle Arets will be sharing some insider tips for those going to Eindhoven to visit DDW!
…Op de Zuidas (…At Amsterdam’s Financial District)
Performed by Joost van Loo and Frederique de Jong
The artificial rescue of the last two Northern rhino’s
Performed by journalist and theatre producer Jasmijn Apte
Only two northern white rhinos are alive, both female and unable to carry pregnancies. As the species nears extinction, scientists are trying to save them using artificial embryos. This happens against the backdrop of a human-driven sixth mass extinction, faster than that of the dinosaurs. This project explores what it means to restore what we have destroyed ourselves. Can technology reverse extinction? And if so, what does that say about us? Who decides which species deserves to survive?
