Harp

Studying Harp at the conservatory means that you will master your instrument while being part of a vibrant international environment at the Fontys Academy of the Arts. Next to your main subject and theory lessons you focus on ensemble playing, co-creating and entrepreneurship. Performing the harp will come hand in hand with developing holistically as a musician and exploring other creative paths.

Doriene Marselje

Doriene Marselje has been surrounded by music since before she was even born so naturally she started playing an instrument at a very young age. Much to her parents' delight she chose the harp! Luckily, her talent and dedication soon began to bear fruit; within a year she received the Young Talent Prize of the Gergiev Festival at the concert hall, De Doelen, of Rotterdam, which is where she also gave her very first solo recital at age 7. Doriene is a very active musician in the contemporary scene and dedicates most of her time to exploring and investigating new possibilities within existing contemporary repertoire and finding new ways to expand the sound of the harp as we know it by integrating live effects and electronics.

Audition

Candidates who live in the Netherlands, Belgium or western Germany will do a live audition.
Candidates from other countries will do an online audition.
Duration of the audition is 15 minutes.

The audition program should include: 2 etudes and 2 concert pieces.
