Voorlopig geen Fontys-reizen naar China - Impact of the Corona virus on Fontys students and staff members
Nu de World Health Organization de corona-uitbraak tot internationale noodtoestand heeft benoemd en het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken het reisadvies voor de provincie Hubei én voor heel China heeft aangescherpt (zie foto), heeft Fontys besloten om Fontys-reizen naar China voorlopig te verbieden. Studenten die door deze maatregel hun plannen gedwarsboomd zien, kunnen met hun opleiding naar alternatieven zoeken om studievertraging zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen.
Inkomende studenten vanuit China zijn voorlopig gewoon welkom, in heel Nederland. Sowieso ondergaat iedereen die China verlaat, een medische test. Studenten of medewerkers die uit China vertrekken en in nauw contact hebben gestaan met personen uit Wuhan die ziekteverschijnselen vertonen, wordt met klem verzocht bij terugkeer onmiddellijk contact op te nemen met de eigen huisarts. Chinese studenten, docenten of onderzoekers die momenteel in Nederland studeren of werken en onlangs in China zijn geweest, wordt ook geadviseerd naar de huisarts te gaan als er sprake is van ziekteverschijnselen die overeenkomen met die van het coronavirus.

Impact of the Corona virus on Fontys students and staff members
Now that the World Health Organization has designated the corona outbreak as a global emergency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has tightened up travel advice for the province of Hubei and the whole of China (see photo), Fontys has decided to ban Fontys trips to China for the time being. Students who see their plans thwarted by this measure can look for alternatives with their education to prevent study delays as much as possible.
At this time, incoming students from China are welcome throughout the Netherlands. Anyone who leaves China are undergoing a medical test. Students or staff who leave China and have been in close contact with people from Wuhan or the province of Hubei, who show symptoms of illness, are urged to contact their own doctor immediately upon return. Chinese students, teachers or researchers who are currently studying or working in the Netherlands and who have recently been to China are also advised to go to the doctor if they have symptoms similar to those of the corona virus.
