Docent van het Jaar 2020
Het ISO nodigt hogescholen en universiteiten weer uit om een docent af te vaardigen naar de landelijke verkiezing. Fontys organiseert daarom - in aanloop naar die landelijke verkiezing – de eigen verkiezing van Fontys Docent van het Jaar. De winnende Fontysdocent wordt vervolgens afgevaardigd naar de landelijke ISO-verkiezing.
Fontys Docent van het Jaar word je op voordracht van studenten. Een jury kiest uit de aanmeldingen de Docent van het Jaar 2020. Het is een uitgelezen kans om docenten in het zonnetje te zetten.
Wat levert de verkiezing op?
De Fontyswinnaar wordt bekend gemaakt tijdens de Nieuwjaarsontmoeting op 6 januari 2020. De winnaar ontvangt naast lof en waardering binnen het instituut, uit handen van het bestuur een cheque van € 1.000,- ten behoeve van het onderwijs èn ondersteuning op weg naar de landelijke verkiezing in het voorjaar 2020. Aan de landelijke titel Docent van het Jaar wordt door het ISO een geldprijs verbonden, beschikbaar gesteld door het ministerie OCW.
Beoordelingscriteria
De onderwerpen waarop de beoordeling door Fontys en door het ISO onder andere wordt gedaan zijn:
- Passie voor het vak
- Didactiek die aansluit bij de diversiteit in het onderwijs
- Betrokkenheid bij de belevingswereld van de student
- Creatieve onderwijsvisie en het gebruik van digitale leermiddelen
- Instituut overstijgende samenwerking met collega’s
- Voorkeur instituut overstijgende samenwerking
- Delen van ‘best practices’.
Nomineren en aanmelden
Je kan één docent zelf aanwijzen of eerst verkiezingen binnen je instituut houden. Uiterlijk 1 december de nominatie doorgeven aan docentvanhetjaar@fontys.nl. Een aanmelding moet voorzien zijn van een motivatie die ingaat op de beoordelingscriteria.

The ISO again invites us to send a lecturer to the national election. Fontys therefore organizes - in the run-up to the national election - our own election of Fontys Teacher of the Year. The winning Fontys teacher is then delegated to the national ISO election.
You become a Fontys Teacher of the Year on the recommendation of students. A jury chooses the Teacher of the Year 2020 from the applications. It is an excellent opportunity to put teachers in the spotlight.
What does the election yield?
The Fontys winner will be announced during the New Year's meeting on January 6, 2020. In addition to praise and appreciation within the institute, the winner will receive a check from the board of € 1,000 for education and support on the way to the national election in spring 2020. The national title Teacher of the Year is linked to a cash prize by the ISO, made available by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Assessment criteria
The subjects on which the assessment by Fontys and the ISO are done include• Passion for the profession• Didactics that match the diversity in education• Involvement in the perception of the student• Creative educational vision and the use of digital learning resources• Institute-transcending collaboration with colleagues• Preference for institution-transcending collaboration• Sharing best practices.
Nominate and register
You can appoint one teacher yourself or first hold elections within your institute. Send the nomination to docentvanhetjaar@fontys.nl no later than 1 December. A registration must be accompanied by a motivation that meets the assessment criteria.
