Exception home quarantine border workers and border students, update 35

Update C

Employees and students from Belgium and Germany can travel back to work or school from orange/red areas. The basic principle here is that these travel movements are strictly necessary and therefore only take place if working or studying from home is not possible.

In recent weeks, traffic to and from Belgium and Germany has in many cases been undesirable due to the fact that various areas have been designated as high-risk areas. On 11 September, the Minister of Justice and Security announced a number of exceptions for home quarantine in a letter to the House of Representatives. Within Fontys, these adjustments affect border employees and border students.

Conditions
We take over these exceptions for home quarantine and allow border workers and border students from a code orange/red region to come to Fontys for work/educational activities provided they comply with the set conditions:

  • Social contacts are avoided.
  • There is no travel by public transport.
  • The length of stay should be as short as possible.
  • Quarantine rules are observed outside the Fontys residence.
  • A good distance is kept between them.
  • Good hygiene measures are taken.

This is a limited extension of the exceptions to the home quarantine, under strict conditions, which can be adjusted and tightened when the situation demands it.

Restrictions in Belgium and Germany
The above exception applies to trips from an orange or red area to the Netherlands. We ask border staff and border students to take responsibility for informing themselves about restrictions that apply in their own country for return from the Netherlands.
