Why Fontys?

I decided to pursue my higher education at Fontys University of Applied Sciences due to several reasons: the practical orientation of the courses, the included internships, and the possibility to meet people from all around the world. Another very important reason was the fact that the university is located in the Brainport region where the opportunities in the IT industry are enormous!

Do you have some tips for new students?

First of all, I would advise new students to be always open for new opportunities and not to be afraid to leave their comfort zone to accept new challenges – for example, joining Dutch classes after the regular courses, taking part in extracurricular activities, or working part-time next to their studies. Also, it is crucial that they are prepared for a lot of teamwork as well as individual assignments. Finally, new students should not worry if they do not speak Dutch, because almost everyone in the Netherlands speaks English.

Anything you want to add?

Fontys University works closely with external companies which offer internships, provide guest lectures, and facilitate company visits. Thanks to this collaboration the students have the chance to work on real-life projects already during their study years.
