Your studies at Fontys start in September.
Exciting! But first, it's time for a great beginning: the introduction week Purple 2026. During this week, you will get to know your study programme, your fellow students, and your new city.
- The Purple introduction week takes place in the week of 24–28 August 2026*.
*The start day (Monday or Tuesday) and any Friday activities are determined per programme.
Make friends and start well
During Purple, you will meet your classmates and connect with people you will have a brilliant time with. You will find out how your study programme works, explore the campus and the city, and take part in fun activities together. Sharing meals, going out, having a laugh, and making memories. It's all part of it.

Get to know your fellow students!
Start your study year in a relaxed and fun way. Join us for an evening of bowling, laughter and friendly competition. This activity is a great way to meet other new students and feel at home at Fontys. You do not need any bowling experience. Everyone is welcome. Just come as you are and enjoy the evening.

Start the introduction week with our first activity: the Meet & Greet. This is a relaxed moment to arrive, meet other new students and feel welcome at Fontys.
Join us in building R10 for a casual get‑together. Enjoy a cold drink, take your time and get to know the people you will spend the week with. It is an easy way to make your first connections and get into the right study atmosphere.
During the Meet & Greet, you will also receive some useful items for the introduction week, such as:

Jump around, try the foam pits or simply have fun with your new classmates. You do not need any experience. Just join in at your own pace and enjoy the positive atmosphere.

End the first day of Purple Week with a relaxed drink at our partner Spijker Café. After a full day of activities, this is a nice moment to unwind and talk with your fellow students.
Enjoy the lively atmosphere of Eindhoven city centre and spend the evening together in an informal way. Whether you want to chat about the day, meet new people or simply relax, Spijker Drinks is a great way to close the day.

Join us for a relaxed and fun afternoon at AquaBest. This outdoor activity is a great way to enjoy the summer, spend time together and take a break from the introduction programme.
Go for a swim, relax by the water or simply enjoy the friendly atmosphere with your fellow students. In the evening, we will finish the day with food from a food truck, where you can eat, talk and relax together. Participation is easy and informal—you can join at your own pace.

Discover Eindhoven during the Purple City Programme. On this day, you explore the city in a way that suits you.
You can choose from different routes, each with its own theme. Go for a sporty activity, a creative route, a food‑focused experience or a relaxed walk through the city. Every route shows you a different side of Eindhoven, so everyone has a unique experience.
At the end of the day, we come back together in the city centre for a closing party. This is a nice moment to relax, talk about your day and enjoy the evening with your fellow students.

Get familiar with life at Fontys during A Day at Fontys as a Student. This activity helps you prepare for your first weeks of study and gives you clear and useful information to start with confidence.
Members of the study association Proxy will explain the most important practical topics you need to know as a student at Fontys. This session focuses on the basics and helps you feel more at home before classes begin.
After the introduction, we will take you on a guided tour of the R10 building. You will explore the four‑floor building together and see important locations such as the café, vending machines and lifts. You will also visit special facilities like the video lab and sound lab, which are used for media and production activities.

Experience one of the highlights of the introduction week at the Purple Festival in Tilburg. This festival brings students together for a day full of music, creativity and a lively atmosphere.
Enjoy live music, art and entertainment, or simply walk around and take in the festival vibe. There is something for everyone, whether you like dancing, watching performances or spending time with friends. The Purple Festival is a great way to celebrate student life together.

Join us for a full day at Efteling, one of the most famous theme parks in Europe. This trip is all about having fun, relaxing and enjoying time together with your fellow students.
Efteling offers something for everyone. You can ride exciting roller coasters, walk through fairy‑tale areas or simply enjoy the beautiful park and attractions. Explore at your own pace and choose what you like most. It is a great way to end the introduction week with a special shared experience.
