Your Purple introductionweek

Your studies at Fontys start in September. Exciting! But first, it's time for a great beginning: the introduction week Purple 2026. During this week, you will get to know your study programme, your fellow students, and your new city.

  • The Purple introduction week takes place in the week of 24–28 August 2026*.

*The start day (Monday or Tuesday) and any Friday activities are determined per programme.

Make friends and start well

During Purple, you will meet your classmates and connect with people you will have a brilliant time with. You will find out how your study programme works, explore the campus and the city, and take part in fun activities together. Sharing meals, going out, having a laugh, and making memories. It's all part of it.

Want to know exactly what's happening, where to be, and who to contact if you have questions? You'll find all of that on this page.

Together, we'll make this the best possible start to your studies!

Purple 2026: 24 - 28 August

Programme

Ready to kick off your International Business programme at Fontys University of Applied Sciences? From Monday, August 24 – Friday, August 28, 2026, we’re getting Lost in Paradise, a week full of goodvibes, new friendships, and unforgettable first impressions. It's your time to connect, explore Eindhoven, and dive headfirst into the student life!

Your journey begins at Campus Rachelsmolen. We start with a dedicated orientation for our international students to help you settle into your new home. By mid-afternoon, the full IB family arrives! After registering, you’ll head to your designated classrooms to meet your Intro Parents and the classmates who will be by your side for the next four years.

To break the ice, we’ll stay on campus for a competitive Pubquiz and drinks at Café 040. Once the sun starts to set, we’ll head to the city center for our first big party of the week: the "Lost in Paradise" Beach Party at 'T Lempke.

What to bring: Your passport/ID.

The adventure continues right here on campus. After meeting in your classrooms, you'll head out on a Scavenger Hunt to discover all the best spots and secrets of the Rachelsmolen campus.

In the afternoon, the choice is yours: get active with Padel at Peakz or show off your competitive side in our "Island Games" on campus—featuring everything from duo-bag races to a high-stakes Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament. We’ll finish the day together at the FEC Intro Fest for an evening of music and celebration.

What to bring: Your official IB T-shirt, a water bottle, and your ID.

Your introduction day starts in the morning with a City Tour through your Fontys city. You follow a combination of routes past food spots, sports locations, creative spaces, music, innovation and places to relax.

In the afternoon, you take part in one of the festivals or city programme:

  • Eindhoven - Vibes Student Festival

  • Tilburg - Square One Festival

  • Venlo - city programme

The afternoon activities are organised in collaboration with Fontys, the local council and/or local hospitality businesses.

We're closing the introduction week with a bang! On Thursday 27 August, from 13:00h to 22:00h, the entire Fontys community comes together at the Purple Festival*.

Students from all Fontys cities and programmes gather for a full day of live acts and activities across multiple stages. The perfect way to wrap up your first week at Fontys, together with new friends, classmates and lecturers.

*Your festival ticket is included in your introduction week registration. No need to purchase it separately.

Let’s end on a high note! Back on campus, from 15:00 onwards, we celebrate the end of an epic week withfood, drinks, and final challenges. We’ll say our goodbyes at 18:00 officially ready to start the semester on Monday!

What to bring: Your best mood and all the good vibes!
