Stay in Eindhoven
It was, nevertheless, a little Brabantine village at the start of the twentieth century, and its spectacular ascent can be credited mostly to the foundation of the Phillips lightbulb manufacturer, which gave Eindhoven its nickname: the City of Light. Walking around this stunning post-industrial metropolis, it's easy to understand why: Far from Amsterdam's picturesque narrow cobblestoned lanes, Eindhoven appears and sounds like a futuristic city, with buildings and bike lanes adorned with mesmerising art installations like the Van Gogh project, and during Dutch Design Week in mid-October, every street is lit up with tantalising works by artists from all over the world.
Eindhoven isn't for history enthusiasts, but it is for people looking for an exciting nightlife, award-winning restaurants, stylish boutiques, and antique markets. It makes up for its lack of history with streets lined with designer shops, such as the Stratumseind, and stylish modern art galleries, such as the Van Abbemuseum. The greatest locations to stay in Eindhoven are trendy, lively, colourful, and soaring in technicolour, making them ideal for a romantic getaway.
The diversity of rooms will provide you the opportunity to stay in the most comfortable and friendly surroundings possible. There are a range of hotels to choose from, ranging from budget hotels with more than adequate facilities to exquisite accommodations. The majority of the hotels are located in Eindhoven's core region, making it easy for you to travel to the city centre as quickly as possible.
Please note:
Due to other events taking place in Eindhoven during the EAEEIE conference, booking hotel accommodation in the city centre may be more difficult during the conference.
