Your introduction
Your study programme starts on 9 February. But before your study begins, you'll first take part in the introduction weekend (Friday 6 and Saturday 7 February). During these days, getting to know each other is key. It will be an introduction for all Fontys Technology students who start in February. You will meet students from the Dutch and international programmes.

You will get to know your fellow students and meet friends for life. You will be introduced to your study programme and Eindhoven. You will eat together, experience the city together, get to know each other and discover your study programme, make memories together and much more ... Programme
The introduction programme has lots of fun activities. An experience that you definitely do not want to miss! Below we have very briefly summarised what your introduction will look like.
Get ready for a fun-packed introduction to kick off your Technology adventure! We will start the day at 09.00 at Nexus building (De Rondom 1, Eindhoven). The morning begins with some relaxed icebreakers to help you get to know your intro group (your new "family"), followed by a guided tour of the building. If you hold a diploma from a non-Dutch secondary school, it will need to be checked this morning. This is built into the programme, please remeber to bring a hard copy of your diploma with you!
In the afternoon, we will head into the centre of Eindhoven, where the energy stays high with a range of fames and activities. Throughout the introduction programme, there will also be mini-challenges - such as seeing who can place a sticker at the highest point. A prize ceremony for these challenges will take place on Saturday.
Afterwards, you will have some free time with your intro family. Whether you want to explore more of Eindhoven's city centre, grab some snacks, or simply relax and hang out - it's all up to your group!
We are round off the day with dinner followed by a music bingo in Eindhoven's nightlife district. The evening will end at 22.00, after which you will head back to your accommodation. We will continue the programme the next day.

Rise and shine - it is time for day two of the intro! We are kicking things off at 09.00 in front of Nexus building. The crazy challenges continue, and today is all about sports - so make sure to wear comfortable, sporty clothing! You will receive a tour of the gym, and have the chance to take part in several workshops.
The day will wrap up with the prize ceremony for the crazy challenges - so if your group has not placed a sticker somewhere ridiculous yet, this is your moment!
The introduction programme will finish at 17.00. After that, you will head home to chill and recharge, ready for the official start of your study programme on Monday.
Photos and videos
During this introduction, many photos and videos will be made. They will include selfies and videos made by students on mobile phones as well as photos and videos made by professional photographers. By participating in this introduction you automatically agree that these photos and/or videos are being published (i.a. social media, flyers, ads and websites).

Great that you want to sign up for the introduction! Registering for it is important, because by doing so we can organize an awesome time for you! Register before 6 February, 09.00 hrs and fill in your details as completely as possible.

It is forbidden to consume liqor and drugs. Should we find liquor and/or any drugs, they will be confiscated and you can no longer join the introduction programme. Although alcohol may be used (only from 16.00!), Innovum has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to alcohol use under the age of 18 and any drug use in general. Students aged 18 or older will receive an 18+ wristband at the start of the introduction upon presentation of their ID card.
During the entire introduction first aid and/or inhouse emergency is present. First aid people can be recognized by their yellow vests.
Participation in the introduction costs a total of €17 per person. Register and pay here and do this before 6 February 2026, 09.00 hrs.
We would like to be informed in advance if there are medical matters that we need to be aware of. This includes illnesses, (food) allergies (epipen) etc. Please mention it on the registration form or inform Bram (intro-innovum@fontys.nl / +31-(0)6-30 54 04 99.
During the entire introduction photos and videos will be taken. These may be made public or used for promotional purposes. By participating in the introduction you give permission for this.
'Parents'
'Parents' are current students of one of the Engineering programmes. They are your contact point during both days and will guide you around the introduction. Our 'parents' are there for you 24/7 during the introduction. You get to know your 'parents' on Friday 6 February.
Packing list
To make sure you are fully prepared for the introduction, tick off the packing list below. You will stay overnight at your own room, flat or (parent's) house.
- ID card
- Small backpack & a water bottle
- Hard copy of your Diploma if you hold a diploma from a non-Dutch secondary school (for Diploma Check on Friday)
- Casual clothes for Friday and if you want party shoes/kicks for the evening
- Sports clothes & indoor sports shoes (non-marking soles) for Saturday
- Enough credit on your bank account and/or cash money!
- Medication (if necessary)
But the most important things to bring are good mood, a lot of energy and positive vibes!
FAQ
During the introduction you get to know your future classmates and students from other Technology programmes. It is not compulsory, but we strongly recommend it. It is the start of a (new) social life in Eindhoven.
It can be discussed with the introduction committee to join later or end earlier. Please send an email to intro-innovum@fontys.nl.
The contribution for the introduction is € 17 per person.
