Your Purple introduction week
- The Purple introduction week takes place in the week of 24–28 August 2026*.
*The start day (Monday or Tuesday) and any Friday activities are determined per programme.
Make friends and start well
During Purple, you will meet your classmates and connect with people you will have a brilliant time with. You will find out how your study programme works, explore the campus and the city, and take part in fun activities together. Sharing meals, going out, having a laugh, and making memories. It's all part of it.

- 09:30 – Arrival at Nexus on a bike - (ER, De Rondom 1, 5612 AP, Eindhoven)
- 10:30 – Surprise activity
- 13:00 – Lunch
- 14:00 –Crazy 88
- 16:30 – Dinner at Costa
- 17:00 – Beer cantus
- 20:00 – Party at Costa
On monday and tuesday we will visit multiple locations by bike.
If you don't have a bike you can rent one with the NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen).

Your introduction day starts in the morning with a City Tour through your Fontys city. You follow a combination of routes past food spots, sports locations, creative spaces, music, innovation and places to relax.
In the afternoon, you take part in one of the festivals or city programme:
Eindhoven - Vibes Student Festival
Tilburg - Square One Festival
Venlo - city programme
The afternoon activities are organised in collaboration with Fontys, the local council and/or local hospitality businesses.
We're closing the introduction week with a bang! On Thursday 27 August, from 13:00h to 22:00h, the entire Fontys community comes together at the Purple Festival*.
Students from all Fontys cities and programmes gather for a full day of live acts and activities across multiple stages. The perfect way to wrap up your first week at Fontys, together with new friends, classmates and lecturers.
*Your festival ticket is included in your introduction week registration. No need to purchase it separately.

Allergies and dietary requirements
If you follow a diet for medical or religious reasons, have certain (food) allergies or are vegetarian, please indicate this on the registration form. We try to take this into account as much as possible. If you have any questions about this, please email them to info@bgeindhoven@fontys.nl

Alcohol en drugs
It is forbidden to consume strong drink and drugs. Alcohol is only served and drunk from 4 p.m. In addition to soft drinks, beer and wine are served at locations during the festivities (from 4 p.m.).
If we do find liquor and/or drugs, they will be confiscated and we may send you home.
Under the age of 18, alcohol is completely prohibited. Students aged 18 or older will receive an 18+ wristband at the start of the introduction week upon presentation of their ID card.
First Aid
During the entire introduction week, First Aid / In-house Emergency and First Aid is present. Employees can be recognized by their yellow vests.
Costs introduction week
A registration fee of €80 is required for Industrial Engineering and Management students.
Medical information
We would like to be informed in advance if there are medical matters that we need to be aware of. This includes illnesses, (food) allergies (epipen) etc. You can report this to us through an email.
Privacy
Photos will be taken during the entire introduction week. These may be made public or used for promotional purposes. By participating in the introduction you agree to this
(give permission for this).
Frequently asked Questions
Yes, we want to know in advance whether you are attending or not. Please do so in time as places are limited.
No, it is not obligatory, but it is highly recommended. You will get to know your new classmates, teachers and the campus, and it will make starting your studies a lot easier.
De introductieweek vindt in de week voordat je met je opleiding start plaats. De introweek is voor alle nieuwe studenten.
The introduction week takes place in the week before you start your study programme, this is usually the last week of August. The intro week is for all new students.
