Your introduction week: Business and Economics programmes

September marks the start of the new academic year... But before studies begin, you will first take part in the introduction week! During this introduction week (Tuesday 22 August to Friday 25 August), getting to know each other is what it's all about!

Programme

You will get to know your fellow students and meet friends for life. You will be fully familiarised with your study programme and the campus in Venlo. During the week, you will stay in an army tent at Sportpark Vrijenbroek in Venlo. The week is full of games, activities and lots of parties! We will make it a fantastic week! Here you can find the programme per day.

You have two choices you can make during the introduction week: you can choose to stay the whole week or only be present during the day. If you choose to stay overnight, we assume that you will be present the whole week and also stay overnight. If you choose to only attend during the day, the programme will last until 17:00 each day, which means you will not be present at the evening dinner and parties in the evening.

The only exception is the barbecue on Thursday at De Meulewiekers. This will be the conclusion for those following the day programme.

After arrival and lunch at the campsite, an afternoon of activities follows, from an obstacle course to 'poop shorts' and a swimming pool. You and your group will compete against the other groups. In the evening, a big beer pong tournament is organised in which you can participate in pairs. Here, you also have the opportunity to get to know your fellow students and there will be a DJ.

For day students, the day ends at 17:00 after the activity.

Today, after breakfast, you will take a campus tour and follow a day of sports and games at the campsite.

After a Zumba workshop and breakfast at the campsite, we leave by bus for Taurus World Of Adventure. Here we will spend the afternoon.

In the evening, there will be a barbecue at the Meulewiekers with a big closing party.

All good things come to an end.... This is the end of your introduction week! After breakfast, it's time to tear down the campsite. One more relaxing weekend and then it's time to really start your new student life next week!

Photos and videos

During this introduction week, many photos and videos will be made. They will include selfies and videos made by students on mobile phones as well as photos and videos made by professional photographers. By participating in this introduction week you automatically agree that these photos and/or videos are being published (i.a. social media, flyers, ads and websites).

Additional information

If you follow a diet for medical reasons, have certain (food) allergies or are vegetarian, please indicate this on the registration form. We try to take this into account as much as possible. If you have any questions about this, please email them to fontysvenlo-intro@fontys.nl. .

Purple Campsite
Sportspark Vrijenbroek, Wittendijkweg 59, 5912 PJ Venlo

It is forbidden to bring or consume spirits and/or drugs. Alcohol will only be served and drunk from 4pm onwards. At the overnight venues, beer and wine will be served during the festivities in addition to soft drinks (from 4pm).

Measures
If we do find liquor and/or drugs, they will be confiscated and this will be the end of your introduction week. In that case, no registration fee will be returned.

Security will also take breathalyzer tests in the car parks. Should this be positive, the police will always be called and in that case too, you will no longer be welcome at the intro and no registration fee will be returned.

Under 18,, alcohol is completely forbidden. Students of 18 years or older will receive an 18+ wristband at the beginning of the introduction week on presentation of their ID card.

During the entire introduction week, First Aid / In-house Emergency is present.

Participation in the Purple Introweek costs €140. For this amount you will get a super cool programme all week! Furthermore, meals are included and you can use all the camping facilities! You can bring your own tent or book a place in one of the tents on the Purple camping site for € 50,00. We will take care of the tent, you need to bring your own (air) mattress and sleeping bag. There is also a possibility to rent a camp bed for €5,50 per night. Please indicate this clearly when registering.

If you want to participate in the day programme, the cost is €70. For this amount, you will take part in the whole programme until 17:00.

Drinks are at your own expense (consumption price: € 2,50). Free drinking water is always available at the campsite.

We would like to be informed in advance if there are medical matters that we need to be aware of. This includes illnesses, (food) allergies (epipen) etc. You can report this in theregistration form.

Photos will be taken during the entire introduction week. These may be made public or used for promotional purposes. By participating in the introduction you give permission for this.

Supervisors

Your introweek will be organised by a number of enthusiastic students, the Introcommittee. Furthermore, during the week you will be guided by a number of multiple year students called mums and dads or supervisors.

Packing list

To make sure you're optimally prepared for the introduction week, you can check off the packing list below, and nothing will stand in your way to have a great introduction week.

Make sure you have at least the following things ready when the intro starts:

Identity card
Airbed/mattress, sleeping bag
ATM card, credit card, cash
If applicable; medication
Sunscreen
Toothbrush
Drinking bottle for water refill

And of course, don't forget your good sense and a bulk of energy!
