Campagne maakt veiligheid zichtbaar

Renewed Safety Informationpoint brings together safety information for employees
What should you do if you receive a phishing email? Where can you report inappropriate behaviour? And where can you find information in the event of an emergency? From now on, you can find all safety-related information in one place: the renewed Safety Information Hub. This central SharePoint page provides employees with information, support, and practical guidance on a wide range of safety topics. To raise safety awareness across the organisation, a related awareness campaign is being launched simultaneously.
Safety affects more and more aspects of our work. Digital threats, social safety, and international collaborations all require awareness and clear guidance. With the relaunch of the Safety Information Hub, Fontys is taking the next step towards an integrated approach to safety. The page has been refreshed, updated, and expanded with information covering different areas of safety.
An integrated approach to safety
At Fontys, safety is increasingly seen as a connected and shared responsibility. A cyberattack can disrupt educational processes, social safety is essential for learning and working effectively, and international activities require attention to knowledge security. These risks do not exist in isolation; they are increasingly interconnected. That is why Fontys brings these different safety topics together in one central location.
Inge Bruijnaers, Coordinator of Integrated Safety at Fontys: “Safety affects all of us, whether it concerns digital threats, social safety or an incident on campus. Employees need to know quickly where to find information and what steps they can take. With the renewed Safety Information Hub, we bring all that information together in a clear and accessible way.”
Safety in all its forms
The Safety Information Hub offers not only background information but also practical support. Employees can find guidance on what to do in an emergency, where to report an incident and who to contact with questions or concerns.
Information is organised into five themes:
- Physical Safety: information about incidents and emergencies on campus, staying healthy and fit at work, and safety during study or work-related travel abroad.
- Social Safety: information, guidelines and reporting options related to inappropriate behaviour, bullying and discrimination.
- Information Security and Privacy: tips and guidance for dealing safely with data and digital threats.
- Knowledge Security: support for international collaborations and the responsible handling of sensitive knowledge.
- Crisis and Emergency Situations: procedures and communication channels during incidents and crises.
Students can find similar information via Fontys Helps.
Raising awareness through the campaign
The campaign focuses on familiar situations from everyday working life. Examples include a suspicious email in your inbox, an uncomfortable situation in the workplace, or questions about working with external partners. Each safety theme will be highlighted individually, helping employees become familiar with the information and support available through the Safety Information Hub step by step.
The campaign starts with the topic of Knowledge Security and the question: “What is your knowledge worth?” In the months that follow, the other safety themes will also be featured. This highlights that safety is not only about emergencies, but also about how we treat one another and how we handle information, knowledge and collaboration in a safe and responsible way.
