One of the requirements for our bachelor and master programmes is IELTS 6.0. If you don't fullfill this requirement yet, Fontys International Studies in Eindhoven offers students the possibility to follow a Pre-Course. The aim of the Pre-Course is twofold:
- To ensure that foreign students have a command of English equivalent to the minimum standard required for following English language courses at the level of Higher Vocational Education. Foreign students will be required to follow an intensive course in English, to ensure that the level of IELTS 6.0 is attained.
- To ensure that foreign students are made aware of relevant social and cultural aspects of both European and more specifically, Dutch society.
Working Methods
A variety of working methods will be employed, with emphasis being placed on independent learning. Most of the allotted time will be devoted to tutorials. Foreign students will be required to work both independently and as part of a team with other students.
Pre-University Course Testing
At the end of the Pre-Course, an official IELTS examination will be given in order to determine whether or not the foreign students have attained the required level of 6.0.
Study costs Pre-University Course
5 month course € 4.250,- (starting February, deadline for application 15 december)
10month-course € 7.150,- (starting 27 august, deadline for application 1 June)
Included are examination fees (intake assessments and the fee for the IELTS test), all educational subjects and materials; excluded are accommodation, insurances and living expenses.
