If you want to participate in our Bachelor course Electrical / Electronic Engineering, you need to have one of the following:
- International Baccalaureate with mathematics;
- (I) General Certificate Secondary Education with mathematics;
- Havo or Vwo certificate with mathematics;
Language requirements
For all English taught courses a minimum English language proficiency is required according to the following table. The English language proficiency must be proved by submitting an IELTS or TOEFL test result.

Some applicants can be exempted from submitting the language proficiency test results:
- Candidates with a Dutch HAVO / VWO diploma
- EU Candidates with the required previous education.
- Applicants whose previous education was English-taught for at least two years, and taken in a country in which English is an official language.
- Applicants whose mother tongue is English
The level of English proficiency must always meet the entry requirements for the chosen Fontys course. Fontys always reserves the right to require a language proficiency test for all categories of applicants.

For non-EU students
We will apply for the ‘shortened visa procedure’ at the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service after payment of the invoice. Your student residence permit is only valid for the duration of one year and has to be renewed every year.
