At Thursday the 7th of October the current group of Master students had their annual excursion to the Harbour of Antwerp.   This much appreciated excursion to either Antwerp or Rotterdam is in the program every year.   The Group consisted of 21 students and 2 lecturers   At 10.00 the group arrived by touring car and had an official welcome by the Harbour authorities

After this, a very interesting presentation was held about the past, present and future of this harbour. Specific topic was the competitive position of the Harbour of Antwerp versus the harbour of Rotterdam

Then different terminals were visited among which container handling, lockage, general cargo handling, fruit handling and physical distribution of chemical products.

These visits gave a clear view regarding the activities and added value of a large international port

At 16.00 this very interesting and instructive day ended and the students went back to Venlo by touring car.
