Fontys University of Professional Education is involved in a 'restructuring' of education, namely the Major-Minor model starting in academic year 2005/2006. This model has been given the name 'Biloba'.
Bachelor courses will be broken down into a major and minor phase. The major is the core of your studies and will encompass 75% of your studies.
The minor, which will cover 25%, is an elective programme. It offers the possibility to focus on specific subject areas. That way, you can broaden your career prospects or it can help you specialize in a specific field. In other words, the choice is yours for broader or more in-depth study!
At the moment, Fontys International University Venlo offers 3 major and 2 minor courses:
Majors:
International Marketing (IM): formerly known as 'Commerciële Economie' and 'Absatzwirtschaft'.
International Business Economics (IBE): formerly known as 'Bedrijfseconomie' and 'Betriebswirtschaft'.
International Business and Management Studies (IBMS).
Food and Flower Management.
Minors:
International Business and Management (IBM)
All courses start with a first foundation year, which is offered in 3 languages: English, Dutch and German.
