Knowledge sharing

Exchange between the practical and theoretical environments is essential within the study program. Companies and industry professionals have the opportunity to share their practical knowledge with students, who are up to date on the latest theoretical developments.

Would you like to share your knowledge with our students? These are the opportunities that FIHE offers:

·       Become an external expert

·       Become a mini company coach

·       Give guest lectures or workshops

Become an external expert

External experts function, next to the university supervisors, as an examiner during the graduation project of a student. Whereas the university supervisor examines the graduation project in total, the main task of the external expert consists of giving feedback on the project from a practical point of view. This feedback is given on two occasions: the interim presentation and the end presentation.

  1. In the beginning of the graduation project, during the interim presentation, the student presents his/her graduation project and plan of approach to the university supervisors and the external expert. Both examiners are free to give feedback on this.
  2. At the end of the graduation project, after handing in his/her graduation report, the student presents the results of his/her graduation project to the university supervisors and the external expert. Both examiners will give feedback on the presentations, the result, and the written graduation report.

Criteria for an external expert include:

- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Economics

- Several years of working experience

- Affinity with the project content

- Willing to read (at least 3) graduation reports

- Available for (at least 3) interim and end presentations

Become a mini company coach

During their second year, students of the FIHE have to start up their own company. This company is a real company. Not only do they write a business plan, they also set up the company, produce their own products, and sell those to customers. Every mini company is guided by a lecturer and an external coach. If you are interested in becoming an external coach for the mini company please visit the website of Jong Ondernemen for more information: www.jongondernemen.nl

Give guest lectures or workshops

Guest lectures and workshops with practical topics are always welcome, as long as they fit into the different bachelor programs. If you would like to share your expertise on a certain topic with our students, please feel free to contact: int.economie@fontys.nl
