Introduction day 170909

The second Master of Science in Business and Management (in short MBM) began on 18 September with more than 50 participants in Venlo.

More than 50 students started in the newly renovated classrooms of the Fontys Internationale Hogeschool Economie (FIHE) in Venlo with their MBM.

The 12 month lasting master programme is carried out with the university in Plymouth (UK) and has been subdivided into 3 trimesters. The first three months the students follow their obligatory subjects such as Marketing, HRM, Finance and others. At the beginning of January, the programme continues with choice subjects and as from April the master thesis concerning an economic subject comes is dealt with. The master thesis is carried out in a company and is not fixed to a certain location.

The large interest the programme has to offer is beside flexibility, also explained by the good experiences of the first cohort. Professors from Plymouth and Venlo both agree that the MBM students from Venlo did very well. The students admit that the British Master title, coupled with time studying in the United Kingdom is considered as valuable.

Asked about the costs, MBM coordinator Blain Lambert, indicates that they are repaid very quickly due to the short duration of the programme.

The first MBM cohort handed in their master thesis at the end of august and are now waiting for the results. The diploma ceremony takes place in Plymouth coming December, of course, our new MBM students also pursue this aim.
